Augmentation rhinoplasty is a cosmetic surgical procedure that involves reshaping the nose to create a more aesthetically pleasing appearance. This procedure is mainly done for saddle nose deformity which is either congenital or due to trauma. This is typically achieved by adding volume or height to the nose through the use of grafts either septal, conchal and rib cartilage depending upon the volume required.

During the procedure, the harvested grafts are designed in the proper size and shape. The grafts are placed just underneath the pocket created i.e. in-between the subperiosteal, subperichondreal layer and bony, cartilaginous dorsum. For the immobilisation of graft, steristrips are placed over the skin and then plaster of paris is used for atleast 7-10 days. This procedure can be done either internal or external approach.

Like all surgical procedures, augmentation rhinoplasty carries some risks and potential complications. These can include bleeding, infection, scarring, and problems with the final appearance of the nose.
